When the Thorn Bird sings, he presses his breast against the thorn, so he can sing the loudest and best. When we decide to except the Lord as our savior, we breast our heart against the thorns in his crown, to suffer for his name sake, in order to be tried the hardest to be his best servant.

Dana Fields is a song bird sent from heaven to be tried and beat with many stripes, in order to become the anointed singer that she is today. A high anointing comes with a great price; although Jesus paid the price for our salvation, we still have to pay the price of life through much suffering.

In this world, we will all find trouble and trails, and for Dana it was surviving the loving discipline of her parents and relatives. I can testify to that loving parent discipline, because I too survived Parent 101 Discipline. (smiles)

There are many things people will attach themselves too, and for Dana it is her family, moisturizer, cell phone, bible and hot tamales candy. In Dana's day to day walk of life, she also lives by her motto " A little consideration goes a long way". Along with her hot tamales candy, Dana likes to sing "I Need Thee" and "If Only You Knew" (Patti LaBelle).

.

Successful people tend to set goals that are long term and short term. Dana Fields ten year goals are to travel doing her music, ministry and songwriting for today's gospel and contemporary christian artist. For our readers that have never heard her music, it is electric, inspirational, worship, jazz and gospel. I for one, absolutely love jazzy gospel. My favorite song of Dana's is Its Personal!!

Dana Fields favorite artist are Anita White - All About You; Dana Fields - Dew of Heaven; Anita Baker - No One In the World; Jonathan McReynolds - Pressure and Tank and the Bangas - Rollercoasters. Johnathan McReynolds is an artist that Dana would like to perform for during an opening for his show.

As with any artist, we all look to them for advice or connection and Dana leaves us with this advice, " It's nice to admire others but along this journey of becoming, do not lose yourself to emulation and imitation. Be original and authentic. Be the YOU God intended".

Dana Fields is a fine example of a virtuous woman, she is a wife and mother, yet managed to be a witness of Christ through her music. Dana is a lady and very poised in her public disposition. She is a model for the next generation to follow, so we don't completely lose the shame faced modest woman God called us to be.

We at River & Word Magazine are so grateful to have made your acquaintance Dana, and we are so excited about you, your music and what God will do through you next. Thus far, you have given us hope for the future of a Godly woman being sober and modest.
