Interview: Gospel Recording Artist, Anita Franklin

Our passion for the things we do and how important we emphasize our gifting, within the body of Christ, is what people want to feel from us. People will know if we are genuine or not. "I have been going into the prison for 17 years and serving with our church prison ministry for 10 years. People want to see if we are real, if we care, or if you are just in it for self. God has allowed people to see the genuine love I have for others", said Anita.

Anita mentions that the body of Christ should have a heart and ear for people. When she was ministering in the prisons, she heard stories that would blow your mind, and in a situation like that you will have to use a listening ear and show the love of God.

Anita had an experience that was phenomenal! She was nominated for her first award, and it came from the release of her new song "You Praise Him", which was on Facebook. Anita took a leap of faith and joined the Rhythm of Gospel group, and they accepted her and she put her song cover on the group page. Dr. Mark Rogers asked Anita to submit her song and It was around mid September when the names of the Rhythm of Gospel nominees were released. Anita was shocked to see her name in four categories!! Anita Franklin received 2018 Rhythm of Gospel Award for Best Performance by a Female Artist.

Anita's style of music shows a heart of compassion, love and inspiration. Her recent single "You Praise Him", produced by Christopher Lowe, is a lively and energetic song to wake up to.

As Anita looked back on her musical journey, she recalled performing with the Boys Choir of Tallahassee at the 2009 Essence Festival and the Annual National "A Bloody Sunday" Festival. She also visited the White House with the Boys Choir of Tallahassee for a celebration with President Barack and Michelle Obama. Anita was also the featured vocalist on the National Gospel Jazz Recording Artist Ben Tankard's first project "All Keyed Up" singing "Let This Love Live"..

Anita Franklin is a very accomplished artist, as she started singing at the tender age of 8. In college she was the lead singer in a live recording with the FAMU Gospel Choir, and the song she sang was "He Will Bring You Out", and she also sang with the gospel group Psalms 8.

Anita was in the 50 and Over Pageant at the Rhythm of Gospel Awards where she was awarded as First Runner Up. When God opens doors for us it will get you very excited, as it did with Anita when she won the Gospel Award for Best Performance by a Female Artist.

Anita is very proud to have the support of her husband, Mr. Kenneth Hanna, and children Jacob and Lauren.
