Article: Be Purposeful in 2019

I was reading through my Facebook post and came across Jerri P. Beasley's post. She said one powerful thing that has reigned with me "Be Purposeful". As I finished my prayer and worship time this morning, I heard the holy spirit say, be purposeful, and he began to remind me of Ruth and Boaz. Ruth was purposeful in her journey to the next place. She chose to follow her mother-in-law to a foreign land with strangers.

And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.

And Ruth said, entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.

When she saw that she was steadfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her.

So they two went until they came to Bethlehem. And it came to pass when they were come to Bethlehem, that all the city was moved about them, and they said, Is this Naomi? Ruth 1:15-19

Ruth was a laborer, and in her labor, she was seen being purposeful. Ruth gleaned the field and gather corn, which sustained she and her mother-in-law. "And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter. And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech".

Ruth 2:2-3

While Ruth was being purposeful, one of the most powerful respected men in the country saw her. "And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband's, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz". Ruth 2:21

Boaz immediately asked one of his employees "who is this damsel"? The servant answered Boaz and said, "It is the Moabitish damsel that came back with Naomi out of the country of Moab: And she said, I pray you, let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves: so she came, and hath continued even from the morning until now, that she tarried a little in the house". Ruth 2:6-7

In being purposeful, Ruth was in the right place at the right time! In 2019, we must be about our father's business and go where the spirit leads you and be where you are ordained to be. It isn't rocket scientist just obey God. How? Prayer, worship and reading the word will bring you into intimacy with God and open the eyes of your heart so you may see.

In being purposeful, God can place you in the right place on time! Look at what happened to Ruth next,

Then said Boaz unto Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither go from hence, but abide here fast by my maidens:

Let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go thou after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch thee? and when thou art athirst, go unto the vessels and drink of that which the young men have drawn.

Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in thine eyes, that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger? Ruth 2:8-10

Glory to God! Ruth was promoted by Boaz, who just looked and saw her being purposeful, and she had obtained his favor. Boaz places Ruth in his own field, gives a charge that none should touch her, protection, and Ruth being humble falls in submission and asked why he found grace on her....look at God.

Ruth's example of being purposeful is not just about a relationship, but her purposefulness is also about business, ministry, commitment, integrity, and sacrifice. When we are being about God's business He can place us where we need to be, what we need to do, whose eyes need to be open to see us and the rest is history.

What has God purposed for you to do, to be, to learn and to receive the blessings of the Lord that maketh us rich and add no sorrow? When God orders our footsteps and directs our paths, we will land in the overflow!

Ruth was purposeful in journeying with her mother-in-law and landed in the right field, got promoted, and received favor. Next, Ruth was instructed by Naomi on what to do while in Boaz presence. Boaz blessed Ruth and gave her extra to take home to Naomi. When you are flowing in your purpose, the blessings of the Lord will chase you and overtake you. Ruth did not have to go after Boaz, he saw her and sowed into her. Eventually, Boaz married purposed and together they ran the kingdom!

When you are in your purpose, you will not have to strife, walk in fear or worry. because provision will find you. Money, support and help are married to the purpose and together they will meet the need! If you are in a partnership, relationship or business and the other half isn't supporting, helping, giving or making any provision then that is not purposeful. When purpose meets destiny, provision will marry itself to them and the two will become one in the trinity of the commitment...glory to God! The Lord will provide all our needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus. Amen

Read the whole chapters of Ruth 1 and 2 and be encouraged and instructed on being purposeful. Amen
