I arrived at the Hampton around 8 am, eagerly awaiting to get set up with my tri-pod, and I wanted to get in the perfect spot. The first thing I saw was, the registration tables were set and ready an hour early, I was impressed! The first person I met was Michael D. Harrison, and he actually ran to help me. As I entered the meeting room, I was greeted very cordially, which left me feeling like a part of this family. As we all know, first impressions are lasting ones.

As I am getting ready to set up, guess who calls me out, my brother, Patrick Tribitt, who was the MC for the event, but mind you, I have only known he and his wife, Diane Tribitt, over social media, and for Patrick to recognize me and call my whole name out, was too exciting. We hugged and laughed about it.

I got set up and I was joined by the Urban Houston Network to get in the hot spot for filming and picture taking.

Once I finished getting prepared for the meeting, I moved around the room, and I was greeted with nothing but smiles and hugs, it was like a family reunion. I never met so many black people that were so loving and friendly in one place. I was impressed from the time I arrived, all the way until the time I left, which was very late, no one wanted to go home, and that speaks volumes about the kind of people that are members of the Alliance, its leaders and President, Angela Bennett.

The meeting was opened with prayer by, Pastor Broderick Gordan, Smith Memorial Church of God in Christ, followed by worship with Chad Brawley, Pastor of Worship Arts, The Luke Church. The welcome was given by mother Wilma Bivens, as many call her, including myself. Mother Bivens possesses this persence that requires you to honor her and respect her position. Mother Wilma kept asking me to take care of things that were needed, and to make sure Chris Walker knew where he was too sit, even though I was an invited guess to write an article, I immediately said, yes mame and got to it. Today, many young people don't have that kind of respect for an elder. The bible tells us to intreat an elder, it is an honor to serve them and show them respect.

President, Angela Bennett gave an overview of how the meeting would run. Up next was Razzy Shorter, Canidate fo Harris County District Clerk; Arnetta Hicks Murray, Candidate for Brazoria County Commission Precinct 4 and Andre Jones, KYOK 1140 Am Sports Talkshow host

Next, Robert Hawkins, Artist Manager by atVenue Tech Demo. He gave great insight on an app, that will help a recording artist track their inventory and sales. The tracking can be done right from the cell phone, how convient!

There were panelist who shared their expertise and information with the group. The Panel consist of Diane Tribitt, Vitiligo Awareness Movement Founder; Chris Walker, International Producer| Songwriter| Jazz Artist; Micahel McKay, Acclaimed Song Writer; Deavra Daughtry, The Women Empowerment Foundation Founder; Candice Ledbetter, Celebrity Publicist | CNBetter Media Principal Consultant and Yolanda Adams, Grammy Award Winning Gospel Artist | Songwriter | Entrepreneur.

The first panelist to open the disscussion were Diane Tribitt, Chris Walker and Michael McKay. Diane gave her testimony of growing up with Vitiligo, a skin disorder that causes a loss of pigmentation. She was so confident as she bared her scares as a child, and not feeling pretty enough to go without make-up. I knew from social media, that she was beautiful, but to see her in person was amazing! Diane is tall, shapely and has the most beautiful brown eyes. The anointing of God on her is so apparent.

Next, Chris Walker shared his faith walk on how he got his breaks. He was always in the right place at the right time, trying to stay in the back ground, but as God would have it, Chris was asked to come up front, every single time. He was always relunctant, but he couldn't talk his way out of opportunity. He encouraged the recording artist to not be afraid to get out of their comfort zone.

Finally, Michael McKay gets on the mic and just blew us out the water, with his powerful anointed ministering!! He took us to the word and related it to business, music etc. The anointing of God was so strong on him, that the meeting truned in to a church service! People were shouting, clapping hands and praising God. Michael tried to sit down when he finished, but the power of God was moving in that meeting, and back on the mic he went! The presence of the holy ghost was running threw there so swift, all you could see was lifted hands and crying eyes! Micahel McKay brought it!! Where else can you go have a good time among your people and remain in peace?

The second panelsit were Deavra Daughtry, Candice Ledbetter and Yolanada Adams. Deavra gave her testimony of how she started her business with a family member and grew it to 600 employees. She now has 1,000 employees and has made milinons. Up next was Candice Ledbetter, who had been a teacher and with everything she had, Candice tried to remain in the teaching field. A student asked her, why was she a teacher? She was suprised by the question, but the student explained, that they were glad to have her, but she should be in entertainment. Candice continued to try and stay in education to no avail, because she couldn't get that one point to pass her certification, which she needed to teach. God had other plains, and she now owns her own companies and works in entertainment as a publicist. Oprah's network is one of her clients. Finally, it was Yolanda Adams turn, and she gave great tips on being in business and how to be a successful recording artist. She stood strong on putting God first! Yolanda gave some powerful advice to a young lady that asked how to get started in selling her head wraps, and how should she seek God. As faith would have it, this young lady was in the right place at the right time, and Yolanda basically gave her a business plain right on the spot! Another reason to be a member of the Alliance.

The floor was opened by Michael D. Harrison, to invite new members to join the Alliance and current members to renew. President, Angela Bennet also blessed everyone, by gving little gift bag treats, and gift drawings throughout the event, in which I did win a mug that said, Believe in Your Dreams, which was right on time for me. Angela gave gifts to her panelist and thanked them for coming.

Angela Bennett has a big heart, and is a blesser and a giver. She gave Myra Banks, a storage room full of furniture, after finding out she lost everyting in the Harvey storm. Another reason to join the Alliance! When the Harvey storm hit, Angela was able to tell the Alliance members how to fill out an application to get money, that was worth being a member right there!

Before the meeting closed out, Bishop Kenneth Wells, GMWA Alliance Leader | Radio Personality | and Published Author, gave the special announcements. The clsoing remarks were given by Angela Bennett, president of the Houston Allinace.

Once the meeting ended, to my surprise, there was a birthday party in the lounge area of the Hampton. The theme was a Paris one that was too cute. We all were invited and we fellowship like a family, no one wanted to leave! I have dertainly enjoyed myself in the presence of such beautiful people.

The Houston Alliance meeting was a success, with standing room only! Be an early bird to the next meeting and secure yourself a seat. I applaud everyone that participated in making this event an experience to remember. I can't wait to come to the next meeting.
