The Black Girl Excellence Award event was awesome!

LaTasha Weatherspoon is known for her excellence in business and events. She is also an author, Speech Pathtologist and an advocate for black women and young girls. LaTasha is a power house in her own right, and she is a promoter of black girl/women entrepreneurs. I admire this beautiful woman, for she is a pillar of her community. LaTasha has not forgotten to give back to others.

Black Girl Excellence invited young girls that are still in elementary school to participate. The young black entrepreneurs presented their products in such a professional display, and they were able to articulate what they were selling! I want to encourage all of you to invest in your childrens' skills, talents, and help them to become business owners that will succeed to lead.

Lisa Lemons, CEO of Ventress Films was the key note speaker at this powerful event. The MC for the evening was Charease Davis, CEO of Be A Total Woman.

I was so excited to have been a part of such an awesome event that is recognizing the beauty and quality of women. There were so many women that won awards for being black entrepreneurs. The winners were from all walks of life: from abuse, drug parents, divorce, sickness and the list goes on, but the women are now successful and give back to their communities. Several of the woman have become millionaires, and own franchises.

Left to right: Doris Clark, Margo Baines, Maranda Evans, Dr. Simone Ellis, LaTasha Weatherspoon, Gayle Woodard, Tamala H. Austin and Dr. Gaines.

The room was simple and elegantly decorated. I especially loved the pictures that were on each table; the pictures were of black girls associated with LaTasha's Lifted Lifestyle. The Black Girl Excellence Awards 2018 was completely sold out! LaTasha had to turn down 70 people.
