Ellie Award winning Filmmaker, Quincy "Q" Ledbetter, is an entrepreneur with many gifts and talents. Q is the CEO of "The Bang Bang Theory", where autotelic films are told from a new perspective. Qunicy started out as a musician and became a solo artist. " I needed a photo for my website and photographers charge cost upwards of $2000 in some cases and I, instead, used $800 (a fraction of what professional photographers charged), to buy my first camera and lens. I took my own photos for the website. People asked me who did your pictures, and I said, "I did", and they asked me to take their pictures. I bought a video camera and started making videos."

If you are thinking about becoming a filmmaker, videographer or photographer, Q offered this advise: Don't limit yourself! As a filmmaker, I kind of do everything, so I don't have to wait on others. My father said, if you are going to do something, do it all! Learn your craft and know that you will need a team. "Just Start Doing It", said, Quincy.

Quincy has worked steadily to come to a place and position of an Award winner. He said, there is no formula for becoming an award winner: tell the truth and do your best. "Tell a story that resonates with you and it will resonate with others", said Q. Quincy is working on a featured film and working as a video director in digital media. He was employed at a news agency, and the producer found the story about drug addicts. "Everyone having expereienced addiction on some level - through themselves or someone they're close to - is the reason the story resonated with people. I was assigned to do the story, said Q. The way I help is to tell the story and hope it helps someone."

Tell the story is what Quincy Ledbetter did, and it went viral. His video piece, "Life After Addiction", lead him to become an Ellie Award winner!!

Quincy's main goal is to make feature length films and, like Steve Mcqueen (12 Years a Slave) and Ryan Cougar (Black Panther), Quincy plans to make the first Quincy Ledbetter films.

Well, there you have a filmmaker on the rise! Congrats to Quincy Ledbetter and we wish you much success.

Q is also a musician with several CDs; he is in the process of re-releasing them and the first of the 6 is BLACK, and you can buy it on iTunes: q.ledbetter. Q did all the music, singing and producing, he is very talented and gifted.
